Anyone booked Disney Accommodation direct with Disney US, £1k difference!

I've been looking into different accommodation options - we are looking at Fort Wilderness. On the UK site the cost is £2240 and the exact same dates on the US site is $1870 (approximately £1250). Neither include park tickets.

Has anyone ever booked direct with US Disney? I don't mind paying a bit extra but this difference is ridiculous!

We booked with the us site last year to get the us free dining deal. If the price is for a package where you have to buy tickets you'll have to buy MYW tickets rather than ultimates.

Also your balance will be in $ so if the exchange rate worsens it will cost you more when you pay it off.

Thanks Bucksmum - we have a Revolut card so we get interbank exchange rates - would recommend these currency cards by the way - and plan to pay it all in one go. We are only going to the Disney parks for two days, two days water parks and two days Universal - it works out £500 cheaper than doing the Ultimate.

When you book were you just able to use your UK address? We are still undecided whether to stay at Disney but Fort Wilderness looks good fun.

Hi, I have booked via the US site twice. Once accommodation only and this year hotel and tickets I've booked 3 nights hotel, 2 day park hopper, there was an offer on the US site for 1 free Quick Sevice meal per day. Not encountered any problems.

I can't find beyond 2016 on the US site - is that normal? Do they ever have free dining offers?

We booked through the US site in 2014 to get free dining as we missed the UK offer. They have different offers throughout the year which is why it's often cheaper for some dates. The offers are released closer to the time though so you won't get anything for 2017 yet. If you're looking at 2016 with the U.K. site you'll be paying rack rate plus some room categories are gone. The US site has a room discount and free dining on depending on the dates and resorts for late 2016. Free dining tends to come out late April/early May for dates later that year (fall) but is much more restricted than the UK offer. Not all resorts are included and there are many more blackout dates.

We had no problem booking with them. Just used all our UK details just as we would booking with the U.K. site. There was no real difference.

Does the US price include the sales and tourist tax? It's usually added right at the end of the booking process.

At the moment they have good discounts on the US site, up to 30% from June to August

Normally but on the Disney site the price that shows up when you add tickets is the whole price.
