Do you talk to your plants?

My husband is complaining. Apparently some of my habits are a little embarrassing to him.

I tend to talk to my plants and any insects I see in the garden. I gave a spider a bit of a telling off this morning, as he’d set up home on my garden chair. I told him not to get comfortable there.

My husband says that it sounds like I’m talking to him and that we are having little disputes throughout the day. Especially when I told the May fly ‘oh just ≈≈≈≈≈≈ off!’.

So does anyone else do this? I’m trying to prove to my better half that it’s not just me and it’s not all that unusual.

Excellent! I knew it wouldn’t be just me!

I always congratulate my plants on a nice new bit of growth, or ask them ‘what’s up!?’ when they are looking a tad poorly.

I don’t but I had a funny conversation with DS2 12 about his cheese plant who is called Nigel. I suggested Nigel ought to have a bit more water in this weather. I was told that he didn’t and that DS knew about plants! Made me laugh!

I planted two pine tree saplings that were given free when I bought my Christmas tree. I named them Tony and Pepper (I’m a bit of an Avengers/Marvel fan). And yes, I talk to them. Only them though. I just feel they need a little encouragement to grow. I want them strong enough to hang little baubles on by Christmas.😅

If you look closely, you can see a little gnome looking like he’s up to no good! He isn’t - honest.😂He’s helping Pepper grow straight - she struggled at first but she’s strong enough to stand unaided now.

I talk to my tomato plants the most, I tell them to hurry up and ripen 😂

Yes I talk to my plants to tell them how well they are doing. If they aren't doing so well, I tend not to mention it, lol! I also talk to insects and birds, which DD tells me is very embarrassing when we are walking through the park - but I don't care!
