That’s a good idea and on the list for the future

I think this thread is in the right place. This is the Trip Planning sub forum and people are saying how they will plan their trips going forward. It's not a covid thread.

Sorry if it has offended you here I thought it was more about trip planning than pandemic

There is, companies etc that have been excellent or poor are relevant to future bookings, as life changes due to the virus then it’s obvious that booking decisions etc will have to seep into the regular trip planning forum. It’s an Interesting Thread on how people are looking at the future

Same
I always DIY and have a bit of built in flexibility anyway.
It has confirmed that booking BA flights with American on codeshares because of their better flexibility is something to stick with whenever possible.

I don't think I'll book flight only ever again as early as i did in the past.

I'll consider a package and deposit instead.

Going forward, if the tickets and changes are only valid for 1 year from date of purchase, it doesn't give you much wriggle room to re-book eg we bought tix last September for July 20. If we had to re-arrange flights we'd have had to pay a change fee and travel before September.(i'm talking non-pandemic now)

Going forward, I think airline carriers will have to provide incentives to encourage people to book early, otherwise how can they 'plan' their routes.
Predicting becomes a bit more difficult if we all leave it to the last minute to book.
I sense changes are afoot!

Don't use a third Party agent to book your flights (Netflights I'm looking at you!)

It had made DIY less appealing although I would still book DIY just make sure things are free cancellation or that I understand the cancellation policy.

I would also pay a bit more to companies that have behaved well to customers to during this. I’ve always been the person that would book the cheapest option - not anymore, I will book with a company who I trust (based on personal experience during this pandemic and also based on other people’s experiences on here)
