The Hendo's Dream Florida Holiday... Take Two - Day 9... Tommy turns 12 at Discovery Cove!

Yay Toms birthday had arrived! We were up and dressed by 7, he'd opended all his cards and a present we'd taken from home and we were out the door by about 7.20. We were soo looking forward to a relaxing day and to use our new full face snorkels.

When we arrived the queue was halfway down the path, and so i could do the 'I told you so' comment to my husband about getting there early so we could book an early swim! And we did, we got a 10.30 swim time in the sandollar cabana. First time we came here we did the whole shebang with a private cabana etc but this time we didnt, and tbh apart from changing being a little more awkward, we didnt really miss it. But we did miss the photo package we ended up going with the 4 package but the photos were better than last time so im sad we didnt get more.

We met the sloth on the way in <3

We went round the aviary first thing, but it seemed less busy than our first visit. We still managed to make a few friends, and i spotted the Tawny frogmouth who just amazed us, we love him.

Our swim was excellent, our dolphin whos name i cant remember was very well behaved, last time we had Jenny but she sadly passed away this year. Again Tom didnt want to swim so he just got an extra photo opportunity and to feed it some extra fish.

We had great fun snorkling the reef, for hours! Love it there, and we lazed about in the lazy river and ate a heap. Something about a buffet style all you can eat business that makes us all stuff our faces. Nothing in moderation ha ha! Marc had loads of fun with his Gopro.

Great day, it started to get stormy about 4pm so we waited it out and managed to swim the reef one more time, and left about 5.30.

Once we were home we decided it we would order a pizza and had a dominos, it was quite good, although i found it very salty.

We had bought Tom a multi-slice sickly cheescake cake for him from Walmart and presented it with some candles and he said he'd had a great day. I mean how could you not when your in Florida on your birthday and get to go to DC!
