Energy comparative prices
Hi all. Could anyone help with info about energy companies please. We are going through the comparison sites all of which have energy savings of £500 per year. Problem is we’ve never heard of any of them although some have a 5* rating. Please could someone help with info before my head bursts. Thank you.

I did the same recently, and ended up going with Yorkshire energy as they had the best deal. There isn't much they can get wrong because they don't actually provide the gas or electricity into your home.

Did you use clubs.moneysavingexpert/cheapenergyclub
On there they also give advice on what the customer feedback is like. We are also currently with Yorkshire Energy. Couple of others that I have used or know others have are Bulb and Octopus. Who is coming out as recommended for you? Whilst they don't actually supply the energy themselves, they do hold /take a considerable amount of money which is mis-billed can cause issues now or in the future. They also take responsibility for the ownership of your meter. This needs considering as some have terms which mean you have to shift to a smart meter, others the choice and some don't offer them. So depending on your preference you may want to check that out. Edited at 01:24 PM. |

I’m nearly at the end of 2 years with Avro and it’s been a positive experience.

I’m with bulb, no issues so far after a year. All electricity from renewable sources.
£42 pm here for a four bed 2a2c. Oven and hob electric. Although our usage has gone up by about 1/4 over the last two months with us all being home. My advice don’t go on the headline you can save x amount. Look at the commitment period and any exit fees and then look at the rate per unit and the daily charge. Daily charge is fixed 365 days x rate so doesn’t equate to a large amount of the bill. The per unit rate you want to get as low as possible as the more electricity you use the more you will pay.
