Thank you! With regards to the turfing they said no! Bloor are charging £795 where as the same company are privately charging £200 so not much lost there really! And someone went in this afternoon to reserve apparently! So glad I gave in and reserved this morning 😍

With regards to pushing them, is it the solicitors we need to call and push or bloor? Or both? Xx

Solicitors, dont trust that they are doing everything and wait to hear from them, call regularly for updates. Keep Bloor updated too, they will be keen for completion.

I'm assuming there was a Blood sales office on site? When we bought our new build I spoke to the sales assistant at least weekly. They want their commission so will push their side.

Tell your solicitor you want completion by X date. Tell your buyers too and your estate agent.

It's your buyer that may hold things up so the estate will put them.

Bloor will move quickly.

Okay will do, we've got to get our mortgage in principle this week and officially reserve on Saturday so when that's done I'll ring our solicitors and tell them we've found somewhere and to proceed because at the moment they know we've sold but don't know we're potentially buying yet (I say potentially as I'm hoping our mortgage in principle will be ok as I'm self employed so meeting my accountant at 3pm today to sort my 20-21 assessment)

Looks like a great plot! Good luck with it all.

We're in the middle of buying/selling. The biggest hold up so far has been waiting for the mortgage appointments. Frustrating but just the way it is at the moment. Around 50% of DHs income comes from self employed work and although it's not been a problem it's meant they've been more thorough with the mortgage application. It didn't make a difference for the mortgage in principle though.

We're not buying a new build but I keep in touch weekly with our solicitor and exchange occasional messages directly with our buyer too.

Fingers crossed it's smooth sailing for you 😁

Ah thank you Kate
Were using a mortgage advisor are you? I'm hoping that makes the process a little easier? X

Always use a mortgage broker. I always so when I buy.

Also your solicitors are NOT Bloor recommended solicitors are they ?

What would be wrong if they were? Just interested as when we bought our new build 3 years ago we went with our builders solicitors (Charles Church) as they would waiver our Stamp Duty, was a massive saving for us and well worth it!

Yes we have used a mortgage advisor, the delay has been with Barclays themselves unfortunately. All ok now and it's not caused any real problem as our buyer has also experienced a delay. The under writer has accepted everything now and our solicitor thinks it's very likely we'll be in next month 🤞

It's our 1st time being both buyers/sellers and I won't relax until we have the keys in our hand but the mortgage advisor has definitely been helpful.
