Tips on the DCL staycation cruises

Lots of questions, sorry!

I’ve seen that it might be possible to pre-pay tips, which I’d much rather do, but would that be included in the refund if you got turned away? If so, how do you get to pre-pay tips?

If you’ve pre-paid, how do you pay extra one-off tips on board, eg for room service etc?

If you don’t pre-pay, how do you pay on board?

Last time I prepaid the tips through my TA. I think you can phone DCL to do it if you booked direct with them. You don't actually prepay, it just puts that amount of credit on your account so you won't be charged for it later. So I would think not a problem if you needed a refund.

Room service - usually you can do it with dollars but I suspect they will discourage this because of covid. So I think you can do it on the app somehow.

Everything you buy on board (merch, alcohol etc) is charged to your account and you can pay it off any time. We went to guest services but again I think you can do it on the app now.

Thank you, that’s all really handy to know. I was thinking the same about using dollars for tips, so hopefully I’ll be able to figure out the app. I’m glad I’m not on the first cruise, so I can learn from the experts before we go!

I’ve had a couple of Disney cruises cancelled due to COVID and received a full refund of my pre-paid tips within a few days
