Collecting quarters for all 50 States

Has anyone done this? We bring small bills for tipping and small purchases from bakeries, ice cream shops etc and so we end up with a purse of change. I found one of the purses in my suitcase last night and took a good look at the quarters and they're really nice and very collectible - Tennessee with the guitar and fiddle, Indiana with the race car, North Dakota with the buffalo etc..

Would love to know if any of you collect them on holiday and then what you do with them. Do you frame them? Do you bring some type of folder and put each State in as you find them? Do you have a family competition to see can collect the most States?

My dad has done this for many years and I think he has collected a few sets for all of us. We used to visit the Flea Markets as there was always a stall that sold the quarters to collectors. You can get a coin folder for the state collection as I'm sure I have one at home with all my quarters in it. It is fun to collect them and trade between the family.

Enjoy collecting!

Me and my sister have an ongoing challenge to see which of us can collect the set first. We don't include the National Park ones and can't buy them from eBay!

I've just checked and I'm missing - California, Guam, Illiinois, Michigan, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands. That means that I have 51 of the 57 available.

We both have one of these to store and display them - amazon/State-Quart...%2C238&sr=8-11

ETA - I ordered the albums in 2014 so we've been collecting them for a while.

We've done it for years as well and we also have that folder. Got all the states but missing Puerto Rica, USVI and American Samoa. Even went shopping on St Thomas and St John to try and get a USVI but failed.

Over the years one of our ds’s has collected all the State Quarters and lots of the other sets eg State Parks. Friends and family are always on the look out to see what we have in our change. They are stored in a coin album as it also led to him collecting coins from other countries.

Oooh I never even knew they had ones for the National Parks. We've been to a few and are big fans so would love to get some of those.

I did ,took me a good few years to finally get them all, I had 2 of each state, as they were from the 2 different mints. Kept them in a special album ,then decided I would spend them on a trip $25 worth , but I used them a few at a time

We’d collected a large number of them over the years and kept them in a presentation folder but was doing some sorting back in 2019 and decided to stop collecting and spend them instead!
