Does anyone have GoHenry card for their kids?
Looking at a GoHenry card for DD(8).
As she's not yet old enough to have a bank account as such, she does have an ISA for big savings. She often wants to keep birthday/xmas money for spending, unfortunately if we put it into her ISA it is harder to get out but the alternative is it hanging around the house. Wondered if a GoHenry card would be a solution as then I can bank any money she gets given into my account and top her card up accordingly. Has anyone used these cards, are the OK, any pitfalls? Are the worth the monthly cost? Thanks |

Both of my kids have a GoHenry, I think they are great and gives them the independence to spend/save their own money.
You can set limits as a parent. I would say that they are worth it personally 😊 |

I was a bit sceptic at first, but DD friend had one and her mum rexommended it. I gave it a try and i think its great!
She has her allowance and the ability to add to this doing tasks - they set the rate and you can pick how many you want- her allowance is £6 a week and she can add up to £4 doing jobs. She saves a small amount wach week as the savings facility is geeat, bu christmas she will have saved £100 ‘by herself’, there are offers so you can sort of offset the fees. I could do with a gohenry card for my adult DS too! Defintely give it a try, there are some offers out there or if you recommend someone, which i can do if you want me to send you a link. X

I think the £3 monthly fee is a bit steep, but until your kids are over 13 and can have a UK bank debit card there isn't really a lot of other options if you want them to be able to use it pay for things or draw out cash from an ATM.
I've heard good things about it, but can't quite get over paying £36 quid a year for an account that probably only ever has about £100 in it |

We had them but with two kids the fees seemed a bit steep and it was rare they would need to use a debit card.
As soon as they hit 11 they could have a card account with Halifax so we opened them instead which was much better. We pay their pocket money in to their account and they have the app on their phone. |

I like the fact you can send links to oeople who want yo gift money and find this much easier than numerous gift cards etc, and can transfer money accross as well.

seems like a good idea but those fees are too steep for me.

We were interested and my son really wanted one but I agree, it’s too much.
