We have Oral B ones. The kids have the cheaper versions and my and DH more expensive models but only bought when on offer. I say more expensive, they’re far from top of the range ones. We paid maybe £40-£60 (on offer) for them. I love mine though, I got mine last. DH got his for Christmas and he wasn’t especially overjoyed but once he started using it he was really impressed and actually bought mine for me the next time he was at Asda.

I like sonic toothbrushes, they seem to give a really deep clean. You don't use them in the same way as a regular electric toothbrush... you slowly move the head over the surface of the teeth and gums, but the result is amazing!

With all electric toothbrushes, it is important to check out price and availability of replacement brush heads.

I’ve got this one as well. Have had it for ages with no problems

I love my sonicare. My dentist saw a difference too and when I last saw the hygienist he said there was hardly any cleaning for him to do and the only thing I did different was use sonicare.

My dentist was really impressed with the difference the Philips Sonicare made to my plaque problem - it totally disappeared after 30 years of struggling. He went out and bought one himself.

I've had a few Oral B ones over the years. The prices generally aren't too bad (especially when they are on sale - I think I bought my current one in a Boots or Superdrug on sale 2-3 years ago for a very good price), and the nice thing about Oral B is that the brushes are very easily available most places.

Would recommend getting one that is rechargeable and with a battery indicator. I initially had an Oral B one that ran on batteries which was annoying because I had to keep a stock of batteries available. Then went and got a rechargeable one without a battery indicator (as it was the cheapest), but then found I got annoyed whenever it ran out of battery. So finally ended up with my current one that is rechargeable with a battery indicator!

We've had several different oral b brushes but to be honest the only difference (except for the pricer ones) was it came with a different head!

I find this one is the best for me. The battery life is amazing, never had to recharge it yet. Does all sorts of angles and sweeping bristles along my teeth. Gets the muck off really well and costs about £2 every 6 months
