1 week at DLP?
Hi guys
On behalf of my parents and sister who are planning a trip to DLP they seem to think that they need to go for a week, I am trying to tell them 3 or 4 nights is more than enough. Is there enough to entertain them for a week? It'll be 3 adults and 2 kids 8&6 one in a wheelchair. Also has anyone stayed at davy crockett ranch? Thats where they are looking at as only onsite accomadation that allows for 3 adults in one room (from a quick look, I could be wrong!) TIA Kim x |

For me, 4 nights (with 2 nights free, the offer runs pretty often) is the perfect length of time. If they wanted to go into Paris, or somewhere else for a day, then longer would be OK.

i agree with Gill, 4 nights and 4 days is the perfect length of stay for me at DLP, so the 2 nights free offer, which gives you 4 nights and 5 days park access, is usually a pretty good deal.
You are right for that party size, 3 adults and 2 children, the Davy Crockatt ranch is the only onsite accommodation that will fit 5 guests as standard (there are a few family suites for 5 at 3 of the onsite hotels, but they are expensive in comparison because they don't usually get any of the discount package offers applied to them). They could always look at booking 2 rooms at one of the other onsite hotels and ask for them to be interconnecting (no guarantees of that though), if they don't want to drive (you need a car for the Davy Crockatt ranch, you don't need one for any of the other onsite hotels). |

We always do 4 nights and think that is perfect. Unless they are planning a couple of day trips to Paris.

If the person in a wheelchair is able to get a disabled access card then 4 nights will be plenty as you will have less queuing.

I could easily spend a week at DLP but generally I would say that 4n/5d is the best length of time.

Paris city itself is not great for wheelchair access. If they are thinking of visiting, they will need to do some research first.

Actually, I would love to do a week at DLP. Longest we have done is 5 nights at DLH and we loved it (we didn't even go offsite - terrible really, but the children were still quite young so we just had a leisurely break). I actually think of all our trips, this one is still my favourite as it was just so relaxed!
If I were to go back for 5-7 nights again, I'd look to go into Paris for the day and also maybe a shopping day at Val d'Europe as well. I'd also really love to go to Versailles but not sure how do-able that is from DLP - have never looked into it. In fact, if I knew for certain that DH could get 2 weeks off next year, I was toying with booking Center Parcs near paris for a week, and DLP for 5 days or so. However, it's looking like he can't get the time off :-( Just another point on your family - I can't see when they are wanting to visit? Is it a particularly busy time, this can impact how much you can get done, so sometime a slightly longer visit is nice. Also, if they do stay at DCR they may want to have a day or so at the resort - I haven't been but I've heard the pool is lovely and there is a petting farm (or was) onsite etc. So that could eat a day easily... |
