Also been in August and not a drop of rain. No hotter than Orlando in my opinion because you're surrounded by cooling coastline waters. Enjoy.

We find The Keys noticeably hotter than Orlando, more like the Caribbean with a warm breeze but don't let that put you off, I promise you'll love it

We went in August and yes it was hot and yes it was very humid, but we absolutely love Key West. we stayed in the Blue Marlin motel which is a cheaper alternative for somewhere to rest your weary head and it has it's own pool (in the car park).

A couple of tips:

1. If you do drive east to west, take Tiamaimi Trail rather than Alligator alley, it's the real Evergaldes and the best place for an authentic air-boat ride.

2. Make sure you know when the Key West lobster fest is on and plan accordingly, you may or may not like it. This year (2020) is 6th - 9th August and Key west is absolutely rammed that weekend.

3. Take the Fury Jet-ski tour, not cheap but absolutely great.
