What are you eating today?

Mods I would be grateful if you can leave this in general chat. It's not about the virus, it gives us something to think about that we all do and maybe some interesting pointers. Also if you move it to food and drink less people will reply.

For the last couple of days we have had veg curry made from some left overs plus tinned chick peas, was very tasty and quite spicy. Had it with brown rice, though I dont eat the rice.

Today we have Harrisa Chicken, cooked in the slow cooked it has a tinned tomato based sauce and lentils, have with sweet potatoes and butternut squash and green beans.

What are you having I would love somenew ideas.

I'm gonna do a roast gammon joint soon, will either be a full roast dinner or might be gammon chips and salad

I am going to have a little cheese and onion pie for lunch and for dinner we have mussels in white wine sauce served with garlic bread.

Monday night the chippy van is in the next village so we do that every other week and it was chippy night last night. We shared fish, chips and curry sauce as the portion is massive.

The last few days we have had
Chicken breast cut up fried with onion and peppers and put into tortilla wraps with lettuce/soured cream/ and diced tomato.
Meatballs in passata with soured cream stirred in on a bed of tagliatelle with grated cheese sprinkled on top.
Fish pie
Chicken breast chopped up and fried with onion, home made sweet and sour sauce which is brown sugar, vinegar, tomato ketchup, soya sauce and pineapple juice from a tin of pineapples , mix all ingredients and heat in a pan, add peppers and pineapple simmer till peppers are cooked then add the chicken and onion, heat through and serve on a bed of fried rice. The fried rice is simply boiled rice, dropped into a wok with sizzling stir fry oil, make a well in the middle and drop in an egg that has been whisked up with some garlic, let the egg set like an omelette then chop it up in the wok with a spatula and combine it into the rice, stir in some frozen peas and chopped up fried mushroom, sprinkle soy sauce over , a good stir and it's ready .
