We generally go for an ice cream from Kilwins-that alone is worth the trip! I also love the houses, lake etc.

I enjoyed sitting in a rocking chair looking out across the lake and listening to some music playing in the distance. It was a tranquil retreat from the mania of the parks and well worth a stop for a couple of hours.

Definately worth a visit to get away from the buzz of the parks. We go for a walk round the lake, have an ice cream and a wander round the shops etc. Kids love the wildlife and the fountains.

There's just something about the place if that makes sense.

Been twice now and we love it. We spent good 3 hours there 3 weeks ago before our flight home. We walked around the lakes and back via the beautiful houses. We then had shakes from Kilwins whilst enjoying the last of the heat before we came home. One of my best memories from our visit

It is such a change from the parks and I-drive. They do celebrations really well for Fall, Christmas and special events. The restaurants are good. There is a Farmers Market every Sunday but mostly we love it for the simple pleasures it offers.

It's just a relaxed place to go for an evening out. Has a charming and quaint feeling about it. The restaurant (can't remember it's name) overlooking the harbour serves good food and at Christmas the lamp posts "snow". The kids can then go and wash off in the water jets so take some towels and perhaps a change of clothes.

There's a horse drawn carriage ride which we haven't done as we are happy to people-watch.

Nothing earth-shattering but we go each time to get a feeling of being in a "town/village".

There's a good gift shop there where we always but a new Christmas decoration (a tradition in our family).

We have only been here 4 days and we have already visited twice. We love to get up early and walk around the lakes (not the large lake that has the rocking chairs) at the back of the hotel. We take binoculars to watch the wildlife from the boardwalk and love feeding the squirrels and woodpeckers (yes they will take acorns out of your hand). We have seen owls, red cardinals, herons, huge grasshoppers, lots of gators and turtles... a real mixture of wildlife.

After a nice walk, we usually head to Starbucks for breakfast... along with the locals.

July 4th was very busy, main street was closed and the crowds were huge. It all started really early and the procession was in full swing by 9AM.

I went recently and thought Celebration was lovely and quaint, my 2 DD'S where not interested at all, that was until they spotted the croc in the lake. I could not get them away from the place after that. We sat and had a few drinks in a little Irish Bar, that was after my hubby suggested a coffee and slice of cake in Woof Gang Bakery only to discover it was a pampered pooches supply shop...we have never laughed so much . Defo worth a visit.
