Question have you ever done the whole holiday on the beach

We have been to Orlando a fair few times nowand last time stayed on Treasure Island beach for the first time. We only did 3 days but we really wanted to stay longer. We are planning a last minute holiday for September and are thinking of staying on the beach for a full 2 or 3 weeks. We think there are plentyof places to explore on the gulf coast but i am in two minds about if we might feel a bit bored or struggling for things to do when we are used to the busier Orlando area.

We stayed at sunset vistas last time and got married on the beach so we want to do a week there but open to doing another week elsewhere on the gulf coast. Anyone done their whole holiday at the beach? Did you find there was enough to do? Also it will be out of season and last year we noticed there wasn't much going on in the evenings.

We are two adults no kids. What does everyone think?

Thanks

Have you thought about heading to Miami?

Beautiful beaches down there and since you have no children, you might like the nightlife down there too. It's an all year round city.

If you get bored, you can always hire a car and drive down to Key West for a few nights. Loved it over there when I went last summer. Great watersports and also has a very lively nightlife.

We spent two weeks at St Pete's Beach back in 1999, 2 adults no kids. It was our most favourite holiday ever (until we started coming with the children 10 years later).

We stayed in a HoJo so nothing special, and we'd spend the days driving up and down the coast to Clearwater or Treasure Island, St John's Pass ets, and eating out every evening, lovely meals . We did visit 3 theme parks during our stay, Busch Gardens, Magic Kingdom & Universal Studios, but just drive up on the day.

After three Orlando holidays over the last few years, next month we are going back to basics and spending a week at Clearwater although we are going to Orlando for the second week.

I say go for it

There are lots of people on here who just holiday on the Gulf coast every year . We have been coming to Florida for 26 years and have only stayed in Orlando for more than a couple of days twice. Never been bored or short of things to do, at the moment we are in Rotonda West for the 5th year! We make a list of things we want to do each holiday and tick them off as we go making sure to have relaxing days by the pool or beach too.

Another vote for St Petes, the grand plaza hotel is beautful, with gulf view rooms. We have travelled down the gulf coast a few times staying in naples and the beautful siesta key in Sarasota and then down to Key west (great party town a mini bourbon street!) One year we had a week in Orlando then took the turnpike to Miami stayed a few nights in south beach, then a few nights in naples( Inn on fith is lovely hotel, with a roof top pool , then the last few nights we stayed in st Petes and flew home back in Orlando. One year on the way back from the keys we drove the everglades and parked the car and took an evergalde tour it was awesome.Lots of Florida to see. Good luck with the planning xx

Naples hotel was la Playa beach and golf resort, again beautiful 4 poster superking beds, luxury rattan balcony furniture stunning gulf views. Dolphins swim by the hotel every night. Miami hotel was beach Impala? i think small boutique hotel just of ocean drive, reasonable price nice but nothing special. xx
