Skip the queue/express pass at Aquatica/Volcano bay waterparks

Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of the skip the line/express pass specifically for the waterparks (not doing Disney, so just interested in Aquatica and Volcano Bay.

The dates we are looking at our bang in peak season, so I know they'll be busy and cost approx 100 dollars a day (Aquatica a bit cheaper). Last time we did Volcano Bay I remember the Tapu Tapu gave us a four hour wait line for some of the rides, so was pretty annoying.

Any experiences at all to share?

$100 a day? How many of you are there? We stay onsite at HRH & get to VB for early entry for resort guests, issuing get all the main stuff done in that first hour & then spend the rest of the day relaxing, lazy river and stuff with low wait times.

Early entry at volcano bay if ur staying onsite or have an annual pass is a great way to get rides done before they open to the crowds

Oh never though bout early entry, good point. Maybe I’ll just use that approach and save my money then. There are only two adults so would have only needed two express passes as no need for the kids, but will see how early entry works and how many rides can get done in that time.

Yeah, this was the case for us three years ago in July. In the end by the time the four hours was up and it was our time there was a thunderstorm and everything shut down!

Just been at Volcano bay whilst staying at Endless summer surfside. We did early entry and well worth it to get on the Krakatau water coaster with only a 10 min wait ( which was up to 4 hour wait by midday!) we also walked on honu twice, all before 10am. We then walked on most other rides or had short waits until about 11.30 when it was heaving. Although some rides were still walk on such as puihi and maku in the afternoon.

We thought Surfside was really nice and the complimentary transport was great too.

The VB express passes seem a bit extortionate for a one time use on 5 things. Not entirely sure what the difference is between express pass and express pass plus as they both say one time use only.

I think the main thing is you should aim to get on Krakatau early, then often the rest of the wait times are not too bad at all.

We went to Aquatica yesterday at 7pm, with 9pm closing. It helped that there had been thunderstorms all afternoon so everything was walk on, 10 rides in first 70 mins, then did lazy river and repeated a few, left at 9pm on the button, everyone wrecked from all the stair climbing.

A nice bonus that there was no parking charge at that hour.
