Do it! You need to tell them.

We suspected bed bugs while we were away in Portugal, but because it was only my husband who got bit while we were away we weren’t sure (he slept on the sofa bed, me and DD in the double.) 4 days after we got home, I wore the clothes I’d travelled home in, my hoodie had been over a chair in the room for the week, and I got bit on my right arm, left leg and back. We think the bugs got into my hoodie.

The result was anything that had been in contact with those clothes got washed at 90, and we also took 2 bin bags of clothes to the launderette, cost us £38. I replaced our bed linen at a cost of nearly £300 (although we had been talking about doing it anyway.) My husband also got the steam mop and ran it over the mattress in my bedroom. I emailed the hotel and the travel agent about my suspicions with photo’s, as yet, neither have got back to me, this was 16 days ago. The bites still haven’t fully cleared up, but we haven’t had any new ones.

Universal Endless Summer.

Looking at TripAdvisor this is not the only Universal resort that is being reported for having bed bug problems.

It's our last night here. Partner just asked desk if we can have a late check out tomorrow. They offered us an extra hour until 12. I said no thanks. I naively thought they would be more accommodating after we wasted a whole morning moving rooms.
Just back in our room now after a full day at busch Gardens and looking over to our old room the beds are still up on their sides and can't see the mattresses. I can only hope that the mattresses are on the floor from the "third party inspection" and the frames just left that way from laziness. However clearly not at max capacity or else they'd want that room back to normal.

I'm trying let this go. The room would have just been a nice bonus to change and shower before airport. We got given antibiotic ointment the evening of the complaint off security but no follow ups since. My bites have settled and there's been nothing since moving rooms.

they should and they do

let me just share a painful experience

checked in into Port Orleans Riverside 3 years ago

on our first night I got up to take a leak around 2am, and that's how I noticed there were a few black insects under the sheets

Immediatly woke the whole family up, and went to front desk, with a picture of the pests on my phone
it was too early so they said they would do something later

so we went for some brekkie offsite

when we came back we could not open our room (door lock flashed orange) and we got a message from housekeeping telling us to report to front desk ASAP

there we were told that our room had been found positive for bed bugs

we were escorted to our room by a manager and a housekeeper. They took everything that was fabric and the likes (wherever a bug could hide) put that all in large white garbage bags, and took our stuff for special treatment at a laundry facility

we were given money to buy new clothes and even shoes (which we did at walmart, but no, I won't disclose the amount we were given) then changed and turned in the stuff we had been wearing for treatment

we were also moved to beach club, club level for the remainder of our stay.

in the evening, I began to show dozens of bite marks on my legs, and went to get some creme for the itches, to avoid scratching the bite marks (the bites in themselves are "harmless", but scratching can lead to infection, so it's best to avoid)

our stuff was returned the next day, all cleaned and treated.

this about sums the procedure at Disney's

PS : please meet one of my little bloodsuckers, seconds before I smooched it ...

Bed bugs are a massive pain to get rid of but are significantly larger than fleas. Having ran a large accommodation I can honestly say it's my worst nightmare. One person had them in the wheels of their suitcase, another in their laptop keyboard.
Hope its fleas and you are ok, I believe the hotel would inform you because they would not want you transporting them to another room if nothing else!

Unfortunately due to the high volume of travellers commuting in from all over the world bedbugs are now a perpetual problem. Check the rooms before you unpack, don’t even put your cases on the floor. Inspect behind the beds around the dressers and wardrobes and tv cabinets and yes even the sockets. Those nasty bugs love anywhere dark moist and near human food and they are extremely hardy little blighters until you find them. Look for what looks like dark dusty patches almost sooty. That’s a sure sign of bed bug infestation. Literally anyone can bring them into a hotel room.. many folks have no idea they have hitch hiked along in their vacation. Best solution is to have the room fumigated and your belongings heat treated to kill the little nasties. We’ve been there and it it awful to think about however a good hotel will sort out the problem for you and move you to another room and get your items returned as quickly as they can. Yes it’s a shock no one wants it to happen but unfortunately it does. For us it was our 10th trip over there before we encountered them but tbh Disney were amazing about it all and paid for clothing for the three of us for the following 2/3 days so we could still make it to our ADRs without looking like tramps even underwear and pjs so we could have a comfortable nights sleep.. in hindsight we should have picked out bathrobes too but at least we were able to continue our vacation. Try to still enjoy your vacation if this does happen while you are out there. It’s hard to rectify the problem once you leave.
