8 Seat full size SUVs

I am getting ready to make my initial car hire bookings for next year's trip (no doubt they will be cancelled several times over the next 11 months as the price changes.)

There will be 6 adults and 2 children travelling, for which we will be booking two cars. However the ideal situation is that everyone will be able to fit in one car. We want the flexibility two cars will give us, but also want to all be able to travel to dinner together on some evenings.

Last time in 2017 we hired a Full Size SUV (picking up from the Disney Car Centre) and were given an old shape Ford Expedition with 8 seats which proved perfect.

Now my question,
Looking at the listing on DFCH, I cant see an 8 seat SUV listed. Are they still available in the Full Size category or do you have to upgrade to a premium SUV in order to get 8 seats? I can see the 8 seat minivan option, but that's just not the same...

The other benefit of the large SUV for 4 people, it gives a ton of luggage space. Very handy as I rather fancy a Mustang, so the one car will need to hold pretty much all of our luggage on the last day!

The expedition is within the full size suv category, however, they will not guarantee you a particular vehicle and as the category is for a 7 passenger vehicle they would only be obliged to give you what they have available.

The only way to guarantee an 8 seater, would be to book it i'm afraid.

Alamo advertise the premium SUV as their 8 seater option, other than that it's the minivan.

Last year we booked a "Tahoe" or similar got a GMC Yukon XL. 8 seats and extra boot room.
This year the same and got a Tahoe, less boot room but the mid-range model with the 8 seats.
Unless you pay, it's not guaranteed, per se. But as you can see, it's pot luck.
