Our budget for DS age 13 is £200. I'm spending less this year as he signed up for Duke of Edinburgh at school and that is costing £200.
I agree things get smaller as they get older. I'm going to struggle filling a sack but then I saw a big bag of marshmallows in Christmas theme so that will help alongside pjs |

We’re cutting down this year, both had already had the latest Nintendo Switch Pokemon game, and they’ll both get £100 cash, plus a few bits for their stockings.

Around £200 each also.
My partner was telling me today that she went for a coffee with a religious friend of hers and she has decided to stop buying presents for everyone . The meaning of Xmas has been lost and it's now just about spending money on presents. Her presents to everyone was to make sure she spent quality time with each and every family member and close friends over Xmas and not just pop in and drop a card/ present in then go. |

With 3 kids I aim for £100 but usually it’s £130ish, once I’ve added on chocs, PJs, etc.
The kids are still young and I’ve been lucky that they love vintage toys, like Polly Pocket, Sylvanians, Playmobil, Thomas stuff and I’ve bought on eBay. It’s the same with birthdays as we prefer to have days or weekends away.

My eldest two are in their thirties, I give them £100 each. The eldest lives in Vietnam so has nothing else, the other lives closer to home and comes home for Christmas so he has around £50’s worth of gifts as well, so does his fiancée.
Our youngest is 19 and at university. She is having less than usual this year, probably around £200 on her but in recent years it’s been at least double that as one year she had a good camera and last year a laptop for uni. |
