Your Last day onsite, Disney bus or taxi
Whilst planning in trying to workout options for our last day.
Do you lot get the magical express or Uber? I understand the bus is quite early right or are there many you can choose from? Want to get to airport about 5pm (fly with virgin) so was thinking Disney springs morning check in them a bus to a park. Followed by Uber to airport later. What do you fine dibbers do.

We get the Magical Express. We don’t bother with DS bag drop. We spend the morning in a park and then a few hours chilling out at the resort before we are picked up.

We always ask for late check out, pop to the nearest park for a couple of hours in the morning, then back to the room to shower and finish off packing. We then leave bags with bell service, go for lunch somewhere in the hotel and then get a taxi to airport.
I can’t see the point of going to Disney Springs to check in, also for some reason we didn’t fancy the ME and have never used it. Well DH has used it once when he was on his own. |

We get a late check out and catch the Magical Express. Yes they do tend to get to the airport a little early. We use our time to do some Kate shopping at the Disney and Universal stores an have something to eat in the food court. Makes for a relaxed travel day.

This year our flight doesn't leave until 6-ish so it will be a late check-out and a cab when we're ready. Too long around the airport can make me a little stir-crazy these days.

For us, the DME is an essential part of the holiday end, as much as it is at the start.
You can choose, the timing of your journey, but there is a point beyond which Disney will not accept responsibility for missed flights. We actually enjoy MCO on return, as there is a fair bit to see, a good food court, and we often wonder up to the Hyatt for a coffee b4 going through security. Disney332

We flew back last week, we did a early bag drop with virgin at Disney springs went back to our Disney hotel for 9.30 got a late check out with our hotel so left there at 12 went to universal got some lunch did a few rides then booked our car to the airport , we got the lyft app ( it’s a bit like Uber) on our phone they are very reasonable prices it cost us $23.00 and you pay on your app after you have been dropped off.
Really lovely relaxing day did lots of rides too! We didn’t do our flight day at a Disney park has we were staying on sight, and did a lot of Disney stuff over the 15 days. So just wanted a bit more of a chilling one but everyone is different and prefer to do what suits them,. I’m sure whatever you decide to do you’ll have a lovely last day! |

Horses for courses as all replies advise it's what suits you not what others choose.
Enjoy

We used ME (and BA) this time for the first time (we've always driven and flown VA before, so used Disney Springs check in). We found it very easy just to get Bell Services to collect our bags when we were ready, go to a park, and back to the resort in time for ME. We were picked up around 4 hours before the flight and we actually didn't wait around too much at the airport as the security lines were really long.

We flew home on Saturday evening, our flight was at 21:30 (Aer Lingus), staying at the Yacht Club so got a late check out, finished packing, had the bell services guys come & pick up the cases from the room then headed to Epcot.
Lovely final lunch at Chef's De France followed by some last minute shopping then back to the YC for a 17:10 "Tragical Express" pickup. We've always used the DME in the past but this time found it difficult, we were the first resort to be picked up, followed by the BC, BW & then CB so the journey to the airport seemed to take forever, add in Mickey & The Gangs farewell message shown on the screens in the bus & we were both almost in tears when we got to MCO. By the time we got checked in (We flew business class so we got dealt with quite quickly), then got through security we had less than an hour in the lounge before our flight was called. We both agreed that we'd probably Uber or Lyft it to the airport next time.
