Were booked for our 9th Y&BC stay next year. We love the whole Crescent Lake area and are reluctant to stay elsewhere.

None of them were spotless from a cleanliness perspective and we experience a broken fridge in one and a broken safe in the other. I just think that that Disney Deluxes aren’t really what I would class as proper luxury accommodation - at best they are good 3-4 star elsewhere, you are just paying through the nose because of the brand and convenience. Granted I’ve only stayed at 2 deluxe hotels so I may be being unfair.

OP, I’m sure you will have a lovely time regardless, best advice I can give you is to tone down your expectations to manage any disappointment. If something isn’t right, get it fixed and don’t let it ruin your holiday.
I think this is fair. I much prefer Hard Rock Orlando to the Beach Club for example.

Having previously always stayed at OKW, I was persuaded (Wife/Daughters) to go for the Beach Club this time in November, being close to Epcot & HS

I was hesitant as I had read mixed reviews, but isn't that always the case.

When we arrived the room was fine, everything seemed good, the only issue was in the fridge I found some items a previous guest had left. Which is no big deal, however as a room clean I would have expected this would have been picked up.

The WiFi was horrendous, but again we had '3' SIM cards which meant we had no reliance on it, but again for a major hotel it was a little poor to find that the WiFi was practically useless.

Had a slight issue on day 3 when I was asked to contact reception (I don't leave a credit card on file, never have) as they needed payment for car parking. Explained that I was a UK resident etc and had booked within the period when parking charges were waived. At first the member of staff was telling me that I would have to pay and then take it up with Guest Services. I made the point that as a guest it was her job to sort this issue for me, made in a polite but firm way and she made a call and then it was sorted.

Apart from those 2 little niggles, the hotel, staff, day to day cleaning of the room etc, was faultless. Any interactions with the staff were great, loved location and positioning of the hotel.

Now just need to decide if we go back to Beach Club or OKW in 2021

We were there two years ago and had a wonderful vacation. They removed the carpets to make cleaning easier and quicker too. They have tried to streamline all the housekeeping tasks. The resort itself is very relaxing and nothing is too much trouble. Any issues with your room just pop down to the front seat and speak to a cast member about it. They will get right on the task once they know about it. The pool is good for adults and kids and the quiet pool is ideal for more mature adults and the loungers there are never overly busy either. Yes some of the onsite facilities are shared with YC but tbh that’s a good thing. Access to Epcot and DHS is really easy too and just a short walk or boat ride/gondola ride away. If you really worry about the cleanliness just tell them you have allergies or asthma and need the room deep cleaned before your arrival.

Some photos taken today, for those worried... I’m a fussy beggar and I’m struggling to see how anyone wouldn’t find it a lovely hotel. DVC rooms are great also.

I agree - we've stayed in YC, various rooms at BC and a 1 bed villa at BCV and haven't a bad word to say about any of them.

We’ve stayed at BCV in studios, one beds and two beds, no complaints at all. Excellent Resort and location.

YC and BC are beautiful resorts in a stunning location, but like most (if not all) Disney resorts they get an awful lot of use and of course will show wear and tear. The main thing is a room is clean, if ever something isn't right don't call reception as it's a call centre, even though they'll answer with the resort name, pop down and see reception or concierge.
