Also collected with dollar yesterday afternoon. Managed to get a Nissan Rogue with less than 15,000 miles on the clock. Rather strangely, I didn't get much in the way of hard sell and the agreement was a simple single page. The only extra charge was the cost of a full tank of fuel which I had requested.

Just back again no issue, mentioned few extras in which I declined all and not pushed any further.

Had issue with ford expedition oil light and service light, rang and swapped it same day for a brand new Tahoe.

Would recommend in future

Arrived here on 14th August, I had already completed online check in, no hard sell at the desk. I had a full size SUV booked. Went to the row, there were

2 x Ford Expedition
1 x Nissan Armarda
1 x Chevy Transverse
2 x Chevy Tahoe

And the car I chose was a beautiful red GMC Yukon with only 2000 miles on the clock! Full leather, sunroof, air cooled seats etc..

Very pleased that I ignored the bad reviews of Dollar from years ago and the negative feelings on here towards them as I saved hundreds and got a brand new car!

I have noted Time magazine have Dollar now at 4 in their rankings of us car hire provider's.
You have correctly stated about their past poor performance but it would seem now under the Hertz umbrella their standards are rising.
Whilst I like skip counter there is only a certain amount of money I would pay for the 10 to 20 mins it saves.
People rightly have the choice to pick providers but my bug bear about reviews of cars or hires is when they go back to during the war, current reviews and services recieved are all that counts.
Glad you had a good time and vehicle.

Time for another poll I guess as this one goes back over two years and Dollar do seem to have upped their game a bit.

Personally I would still pick Alamo for the best prices recently I've had from Andy, STC and choose my own and the best Sunpass scheme (all my opinion obviously )

UPDATE
returned home this morning. Booked 7 seat mini van with dollar.
Arrived at dollar counter. I politely declined all offers and that was accepted with no hard sell. One point to be aware of is you are automatically enrolled into sunpass so if you don’t need this make sure you opt out.
Paperwork only took 5 mins to complete. Made our way to the garage. Was shown the line to choose from. Couldn’t believe my eyes when the first vehicle was a brand new Chrysler Pacifica with only 600 miles on the clock. Jumped in and off we went. Fully working sat nav and the car was brilliant.
After two weeks returned the vehicle with no problems. Total on my receipt was for the tank of fuel I pre purchased.
No complaints about dollar from me. 👍🏻
