Miami airport and fuel options
Hi all,
I have booked a car with alamo (standards suv) and we are flying in and out of Miami. I have always flown in and out of Orlando Int and the last few times found it was very easy to return the car with a full tank, I just fill up 5 miles or so before the airport. I am not familiar with Miami so can anyone tell me if it has plenty of petrol stations within 5 miles or so (i am guessing loads) as we are staying around Fort Lauderdale or somewhere on that side the night before I think I should be able to fill up easily. The other option is to pre-pay a tank and return empty, can anyone tell me how much more that costs as oppossed to filling yourself on the return for a standard suv? I did have a terrible experience once at MCO, i prepaid the tank of fuel so was determine to return empty, well without warning the suburban just cut out a literally outside the airport! it was not an ideal experience! |

Can’t remember where we filled up last year, but it was quite close to the airport. We came off the I95 filled up at a gas station a few hundred yards along and then hooped straight back on to the 95.

Loads of places, ones on the main routes around the hire centre are the more expensive though for obvious reasons.
Use gasbuddy to see the prices of the ones in the area and just head to that. Be aware though, BJ's will most likely show as the cheapest, but you have to be a member to use it, so avoid that one. |

There were a few just before you get to airport, but we noticed the one next to garage we used charge a dollar more per gallo. Sorry, can't remember names
