Annoyed by flight schedule change - what are my rights?
We booked a return flight on the 21st December with Virgin at 20.20 from Orlando to Manchester. We booked this back at beginning of June. However, I've just noticed we got an email regarding a change to the time of this flight around mid July, it says we will now fly at 17.30 - so some three hours before what we booked.
There is another flight at 19.15 (same destination and with Virgin) and has ample seats (I did a dummy booking through to booking seats) and this is much closer to our original time, surely we should have been moved onto this. I'm about to call them to ask to be moved to this, I'm within my rights aren't I? I mean we would have never booked the 17.30 flight over one at 19.15, we like to maximise our last day in the parks. I get why it might have happened i.e. the 20.20 flight has become the 17.30 (as there wasn't a 17.30 previously but there was a 19.15) but surely I should be ok to be moved to the 19.15 right given its much closer to what I booked? Grr, had such bad experiences the last couple of times with BA and had been singing the praises of Virgin as we flew with them back in 2014 and had much better experience than on BA - I'm just really not up for a painful conversation right now, so crossing fingers they just make the change and all is straight forward

OP. Annoying but it happens with all carriers.
If you go into your booking there are only two choices. Accept the change and carry on or cancel the flight - not the best option! VA actually have to do nothing but I would be ringing them and seeing if they would, as a gesture of goodwill change your flight. Nothing gained etc. Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply, I have called them and they have agreed to move us to the 19.15, was a short hassle free conversation where they saw my point straight away and moved us, well done Virgin Atlantic :-)
