Hoping to go 10th August - 1st September. Haven't got a lot of flexibility in our dates and need to find a good price or we won't be going at all.
We haven't been in August for 15 years, usually go May or September so used to paying around £400 for flights. My budget for 3 of us is a maximum of £2000.
Will be following this thread closely and hoping to see lots of you finding bargains.

Just booked for 17 nights glasgow-gatwick-orlando ba economy standard with fly drive cat c for £1996 for 29th June. Am happy with this price and was able to put just 300 quid deposit down.
Do like a BA fly drive!

Time to start saving!

Think I’m going to book today, GLA-LGW-MCO for 2A 2C with 14 days cat F car hire £2683. Out on 30th June back 14th July, flying down to LGW the day before to avoid the 7am flight from GLA on day of travel. Norwegian just over £2000 for flights but would still need to get to LGW and book car hire. I was hoping to check indirect from Glasgow or Edinburgh but it’s the 1st weekend of the Scottish summer holidays so I’m sure I won’t beat that price.

I’ve booked From Edinburgh on same route for 27th June and added on a night at RPR and it’s worked out about £760 each person. Given hotel is about £350 a night I reckon I paid about £585 for fly drive with a premium 7 seater category L car. I was really happy with that price and on checking again last night it would now cost £500 more in total for same package. I would have preferred to fly to LGW the day before but others in our party preferred to just do the 0640 flight from Edinburgh. We did an overnight at LGW this year on route to Barbados and it was great.

How do you guys monitor the countdown to flight releases please?

I seem to lose track of time and then wonder why I miss deals!

Thanks all -

I just kept checking available dates so I knew when my return flight would be released and booked it that day. I possibly could have got cheaper by waiting a bit longer and using kayak or skyscanner but I wanted direct from London and benefit of a BA fkydrive is I only paid deposit of £550 for 7 of us. I’ve had good and bad flights with BA and Virgin so now I just tend to go with cheaper option. Virgin from Glasgow Direct was £250 more per person so it was a no brainer for us.
