Terra verde and car on the drive

We have our car hire through car on the drive, they have asked us to ask the villa owner to contact the front gate so they are able to leave the car for us,because security wont let them on otherwise. The owner has said she and the management company doesnt have the number and wont get involved and to sort it out with car on the drive, anyone suggest a way round this?

That sounds very inflexible and unhelpful indeed.

When we stayed at Terra Verde in 2014, we had ordered an EV for one of our group and arrived to find it had been delivered a day early, sitting on the entrance way outside the villa door.

Have you tried contacting the clubhouse team via the Terra Verde website? We found them extremely helpful.

We have stayed at terra verde for a number of year, we have parcel delivered all the time, I would contact the management suite as they are always in club house and are very helpful when we ask.

No help to you sorry but my view is COTD have been contracted to provide a service. It's their responsibility having accepted the payment to deliver the goods so to speak.

Over to them, not for you to be involved in. As an aside you wouldn't be arranging entry for an Amazon delivery and there isn't much difference, except maybe the size!

Chewee, i would be grateful if you could keep us up to date as we are staying at terra verde and using car on the drive in October, never gave it a thought that there would be any problem.
Thanks

Hi Tom, with due respect, slightly disagree, although private property they should allow vendors on with the proper identification which is usually photo ID that they make a copy of, along with tag number of the vehicle, date, time etc. If they cant confirm the vendor has legitimate business then by all means refuse entry. Amazon simply wouldnt deliver if they couldnt get in, they wouldnt try to sort it out.

OP, I wouldnt be happy with the response from the villa owner you have received. Not getting involved? Im a bit gobsmacked to be honest! If I rented out and my guest was having this issue. Id be sorting it myself pronto, not washing my hands of it.

Hope you get sorted

We stayed on emerald island with cotd, it was a case of when they arrived they let security know on the gate they were dropping the car at the villa, then they obviously collected us from mco and took us to the villa, i would think most of the gated communities will have come across cotd before. There was no keypad at the gate at emerald island but manned 24hrs and they knew we were arriving we had to give the owners name once when misplaced our pass to get in, so perhaps if you give car on the drive the villa's owner name for the day they drop the car off?

I can only speak for Lake Berkley which also has a 24 hour manned gate and in these circumstances the owner would be the go-between between the guest and the guards.
