San Diego must do?
We have 4 nights, but 3 full days near San Diego. We are staying with relatives so hopefully they’ll show us around the good places, but is there anything in San Diego or surrounding areas that cannot be missed?
We plan to visit the zoo on one of our days. |

My list of must-do's in San Diego (in no particular order):
Coronado- in particular, the Hotel Del Coronado and the beach it's located on The Zoo (which you have planned) Balboa Park (where the zoo is located)...lots of museums and gardens USS Midway aircraft carrier museum Cabrillo National Park and the Point Loma lighthouse Old Town State Park A trip to the coastal city of La Jolla makes for a nice day trip- it's only about 20-25 minutes drive north from downtown San Diego. At La Jolla Cove you can see a lot of sea lions hanging out on the rocks and beaches. If you want some beach time, La Jolla Shores is very nice, and so is Torrey Pines State Beach (though there is an entrance fee to park there. La Jolla Shores is free to park) Seaport Village is a nice spot to stroll and get something to eat. It's right on the bay downtown and has lovely views from the boardwalk. It's not a top must-do though, if you are short on time- but if you are spending a day downtown, it's worth a stop. Old Town Trolley Tours- hop off/hop on guided tours is a fun way to get an overall view of San Diego, with some trivia thrown in. Harbor Cruise- not a must-do, necessarily, but nice if you have a couple of hours of free time or are already spending a day downtown

Thanks everyone! Coronado looks beautiful! The hotel there looks like the grand Floridian at Disney world!
I’ll look into the other places, hopefully we will squeeze a lot into our 3 days there! |
