Narbonne plage, August 2016, Day 7, Gruissan port
Monday 22nd August
I think we woke a little later today, Matt and I checked the bus times as we were off to gruissan. Linda said about meeting us for a drink and then Russell would do two trips to bring us back but Michael didn't fancy it. The bus has a break in the afternoon, we would have left earlier if we had known but we could still have an hour and a half so we decided to visit the port and come back rather than stay all day. We walked to catch the bus passing the water features near the house. The bus was on time, and only took 10 minutes. We got off the bus and headed to the the port. We walked across the bridge, and saw some steps, so decided to investigate. Not the safest looking steps, but had a great view when we made it to the top There was some kind of ruins. We headed back down, carefully and took the road route. You can visit the castle, which would have been nice but we were hot and sweaty by this point. We made it back to the port and had a slush and ice cream It really is a pretty square with lots of nice restaurants and bars, and it would have been nice to eat there in the evening. It was time to get the bus back, it was a little late but didn't take long to get back. The others were still in the garden, so we had a few drinks. We thought it would be nice to go out for a meal on our last night, and as we liked it the last couple of times, we went back to the oasis for another 3 course meal, which was lovely. In the way back, another bar had karaoke, it was temping, but I was so full, and it wasn't Albert, but two miserable looking hosts so gave it a miss. Edited at 06:00 PM. |

Really nice boats, and so relaxed there.
Would have been nice to visit the castle, but we were so hot, and didn't really want to wait around until the later bus. Plus Matts flip flops were now rubbing, so gave it a miss. Thanks for reading, and commenting, just the last travel day home to go now. |
