The Kuna Mahuna Croatia Holiday - Day Three - updated kayak photos!

So today was a big day - we began with a walking tour of Diocletians palace in Split, and then followed with sunset kayaking.
The walking tour was very interesting (if a little hot at times) and we basically learnt the following - the Romans built stuff really well, and were very smart, the Middle Ages people built stuff that was really rubbish. We also learnt that Nike was the God of Victory, which impressed the kids! (Not as much as pizza does! )

We followed the tour with a lovely lunch in a traditional restaurant and tried lots of yummy Dalmatian cuisine!

We learnt that a lot of scenes from 'Game of Thrones' were filmed here, and we now feel we might give it a watch when we get home...

We took a bus to a Unesco protected beach near to Split, to start our Kayak tour. The kayaking was pretty tough work, but we eventually arrived at a spot where we could climb huge rocks and jump off, much to the kids delight! I got talked into it and thought I was going to die, climbing a rock at age 44 is not easy my legs just don't bend like the young people's and I honestly thought I was going to plummet down the summit in a terribly ungraceful way (whilst also wearing a bloody bikini today why? !) anyway, I did it, I made it to the top and threw myself off screaming like a looney! Never again. The kids had fun here, we spotted a starfish and snorkelled then made our way back to shore.
I'm sorry I don't have photos as yet as we couldn't risk phones getting wet. Photos are now here!

Back at the hotel we were shattered but in much need of food (and wine) so we had a late but very tasty dinner and a bottle of lovely wine! Am now in bed, knackered. Goodnight!

Omg how brave are you ! My dd and dh would be well impressed with the game of thrones locations. I'm just loving the foodie pics, the food looks delish !

Thank you, am just sitting laughing at the photos of me! Was an amazing experience, long day, but worth it. Think kids did so well too! Not sure about bikini, think somethings going to have to give - either bikini or eating. Mmm.

I applaud you for jumping off the rock - that took some courage!

I have never tried Dalmation cuisine was it tastier than say Jack Russell cuisine

Lol! Yes I would say so! It's actually mostly fish, steak, pizza and pasta everywhere, but all very tasty!

I was more terrified of climbing in the bikini in front of all those youngsters!
