Mobile Stupid question re :Universal AP

I purchased 3 AP’s and am paying via flex pay. I was planning to activate them when we visited in May which is looking highly unlikely now. We weren’t due to visit again until the beginning of December, if I activate them then will they still be valid for 12 months from this date? I’m really confused about it all.
I’m thinking getting a refund will be a no go even though they aren’t activated yet?

I far as I understand they start from when you first use them at the park gate so should run for 12 months from then.
Our ap runs out in May, we weren’t planning on renewing but will have now and go next year. Still cheaper than new tickets

We also had this discussion at home last night, we were looking to extend our annual passes we currently have which run out in april. We are due to fly in october but i would also be interested in this, we were going to give it a couple of weeks and then contact universal. Hope you get yours sorted🤞🏻😁

APs are valid for 12 months starting when you activate them
Flexpay requires a down payment, then installments, I'm not sure if the installments start before you actually activate the AP
but I would sure send an email to the AP team to have confirmation that flexpay does not change things re:activation

I may not read you correctly, but if you currently have valid APs, you have until 1 month after expiration to renew them at the discounted renewal price (excludes flexpay, as no renewal discount on flexpay)

if you renew your APs in april or may (as long as your AP is not expired for one than one month) your APs will still expire in april next year, regardless of the date you renew them on.

If you don't renew your APs before the deadline (one month after expiration) then your APs are "dead", and you won't be able to "renew" them for your next trip, and you'd need to get brand new ones, at full price.

Check the current offer of 3 free months for renewals in 2020 (15 months for the price of 12, renewal offer)

So our annual pass runs out on May 15th. We should have been getting our last use in April this year. Are Universal extending the date these expire due to the parks being closed?

yes, Universal will be extending your AP by the number of days the parks remain closed

you can find this information in their FAQs

universalorlando/web...rations-update

if your AP runs out on may 15th you have until june 14th to renew it, so you have time to see how things evolve.

Thank you, although I won't be renewing as no idea when we will next go. Have September booked for WDW, and still not sure whether this will go ahead.
