Best theme parks in Europe?
Thinking ahead to July for European trips incase we can’t get to Florida 😭
I have no clue when it comes to holidays in Europe apart from the few cities I’ve visited. I know about the Portaventura park/water park would you recommend here or are there others that are better. Thank you.

In Summer 2020 we visited Gardaland and Movieland at Lake Garda along with Leolandia and Canneva Waterpark. All great fun and a beautiful part of the world however my all time favourite in Europe is Efteling, genuinely love the place. Could combine with Europa Park and Rustlantica Waterpark in Germany too.

Oh I’ve never heard of those theme parks, though I do know Lake Garda, I’ll add them to my list to research. Thank you.

Efteling, Europa and Phantasialand are on our bucket list. Do a search in General Trip Reports section as there are quite a few trip reports with photos.

Port Aventura has Ferrari Land next door and also the Caribe Water Park too along with a couple of other water parks round about. It was a Trip Report on here that prompted me to take the kids though we have only been to Salou in Sep and Oct.

We visited Port Adventura park about 15 years ago and I was really impressed with it then, it was really modern then. There is lots to do in the area, nice beaches and I would really recommend going to Barcelona for a couple of days (2 or 3) as there is lots to see and do there. When we went you could get a 14 day pass for the park and it was open till mid-night. Someone staying at our resort went to the beach all day and went to the park at 5ish each day and stayed till late.

Efteling is absolutely fantastic. I love it there. I’ve heard europa park and phantasialand are good. Walibi world (Holland) was good when we visited (10 years ago). We did movie land and caneva at Garda last year - we had a fab time there, but the theme parks are not in the same league as Efteling. But we’re still really fun, cheap, and no lines.
Also have done plopsaland de panne in Belgium, en-route to Holland. It’s really for younger families, but still had some good rides, and again no lines. It’s worth stopping off at if you’re driving past. Edited at 11:48 PM. |

Excited about Disney

We loved Puy Du Fou in the Vendee region , France . There are no rides but several huge shows including Viking ships and Gladiators. It is hard to describe but really was quite amazing.

Another vote for the Efteling. To me, it's the closest thing in terms of atmosphere, architecture, and trying to build a fantasy type world to Disney of any non-Disney park I've ever visited.
