Oregon

Hi,
My dh loves golf and we try to incorporate places he wants to golf on our holidays.
He wants to go to Bandon Dunes. We have had a look and there are some great Airbnb’s there so that’s not an issue. But I think the whole area looks quite bleak. Has anyone gone and how did you find it. Also, when did you go and how was the weather?
I would like to put in into a trip that would include elsewhere. I’m not sure whether to go north to Seattle or south to California. I have to add here that we love California.
Does anyone know if there are any trip reports I could look at as I have found these very helpful in the past.
Thanks as always.

Hi we loved Oregon and our trip from Seattle to San Francisco was our best ever holiday. Oregon and Washington states have such a great feel about them, clean air and openness. I'd happily move there! We were due to go back in September but obviously had to cancel and I've rebooked for Aug/Sept this year - fingers crossed.

We didn't go down the coast road (we went doown the 97 route mainly) but my trip report in my signature will help you nevertheless. Have fun planning!

Thank you. I’ve just found your trip report and I’m going to read it today. I’ve had a quick look and think that Seattle to San Fran is definitely an idea I like.

We did a Seattle to Los Angeles road trip over 17 days in October 2018, just the two of us and we loved it. We came down US101 and found that whole coast was just spectacular.

We only had one night in Bandon but we loved it - it's only a small town, we stayed in the Bandon Inn which was superb, and we wished we could have stayed longer but other hotels her been pre-booked.

Can recommend Oregon/Washington, we drove through some lovely places!

Thank you. After looking into it a bit more yesterday I was very hasty in saying I thought the place looked bleak.
We did part of the 101 in 2016 and loved it, so would be nice to do a bit more.

Thank you, I will have a read at your trippie.
We were watching some you tube last night and it looks stunning. I should’ve looked there first lol
