Brilliant area we stop most years.
Look at Lely resort-villas with Players Club access included. It’s fantastic we stay there quite a bit, Player’s Club is lovely. playersclubandspa/ On the junction of the road down to Marco and about equal distance to Naples Old Town. Restaurants and shops outside, such as Publix, Walmart, Outback, Carabbas, 5 Guys etc. There’s a company in Yorkshire that has a lot of villas there, we have used them numerous times: naplesvillarentals/ I’ve stopped in Briarwood a few times, and many hotels around the area but Lely is our favourite because of Players Club and decent location.

We are swaying towards staying in old Naples for the ease of eating and drinking in the evenings, and still being able to explore marco island, clam pass, beaches, the shopping malls etc by car in the day. Narrowing it down to Lemon Tree Inn, Trianon or Hyatt House. Hyatt House looks lovely but we have pledged to stay away from chain hotels on this trip and stay in more characterful places, so likely to be one of the smaller inns.

We stayed at the Trianon for 3 nights in the summer of 2018 and its in great location, just a few minutes walk to Tin City & Fifth Av & about 5 mins walk to EJ's cafe in Bayfront which is a great place for breakfast. Also on the doorstep is Cambier Park where my husband played against the tennis wall there.
The swimming pool was on the small side but the location of the hotel was second to none. |

Naples is lovely. A wonderful beach and cute pier and some serious shopping opportunities in the Old Town area. Great places to eat too. It's close enough to the everglades for a day trip and of course there are fishing and shelling opportunities all over the place. We spent a week there in 2017 with kids 10 & 7 and loved it. We had a lovely 2 bed AirBnB villa on the edge of a tiny lake a few miles outside of Naples. (Myrtle Lane).
The villa provided loads of beach equipment including a parasol and cooler. We grabbed a $30 fishing rod which proved money well spent after hours of fishing from Naples Pier. Edited at 12:59 AM. |
