Extra night disney
We have booked a 7 night stay at Yacht club before we move onto Universal. The flights I've seen are way cheaper the day before the dates I've booked so I'm looking to add a day on.I'm thinking of just booking a value for our 1st night so we still get the magical express. We won't need our tickets or dining plan the 1st night anyway.Has anyone done this before and is it worth the hassle.

Yes it's not a problem. Have stayed at a value for a night or two before moving to the next hotel. For 2020 we are booked in at CSR for 10 days but flights were cheaper the previous day so rang and added an extra day. There wasn't too much of a price difference between a value and a moderate.

I have added a day on at a value ahead of our December 2020 trip. I haven’t looked at flights yet as it is too early, we thought it would be nice to see what the resort is like (Art of Animation) and do a bit of resort hopping, possibly try the Skyliner.
My dining plan and ticket won’t activate until the next day which is fine. The only unfortunate point is that I know there is no tea /coffee maker in the rooms and we won’t be able to get a refillable mug until the next day. So I will have to survive without a cup of tea. Edited at 10:56 AM. |

If you changed your booking to Pop Century they have a coffee maker in the room.
We stayed at both Pop Century and AOA last year and preferred Pop.

Oh do they, I wish I had known.
I was wondering if I should have picked Pop anyway after another thread. They will charge me £50 to change though which is nearly half of the room cost so I think I will leave it. Edit: just looked anyway and it is not available for the night I need now. Edited at 11:07 AM. |

When we were there in September we took our own mugs and tea bags (green tea) and used the hot water urns in the food court. I prefer my brew in a cup or a mug hate plastic and paper cups. Also used the microwaves if the water was not hot enough (30 secs max).

You will get two sets of magic bands as two bookings. You will have to pick them up from each hotel. The first set of bands will still work after you move hotel.
