Today I am cooking/eating

Following on from interesting threads on the amount spent on groceries and the difficulty of keeping families happy with the meal provided I thought it would be useful to get some ideas of what others eat/cook.

Today we are having smoked cod (baked) with roasted beetroot, roasted asparagus, green beans, carrots and frozen peas for lunch as today is a gardening day so we will eat at lunch time.

This evening we will have homemade veggie soup. My hubby never fails to say delicious and thanks even if he doesnt mean it sometimes !

What are you having to eat today?

I'm currently roasting a gammon joint in oven, depending on how energetic I feel it will be a full on roast for tea or salad 😂

Weetabix and Oat milk for Breakfast

Dinner - DH fancies 'all day brunch' so this will be mini omellete, bacon , black pudding , beans and some small potatoes, he comes home at 5 so we usually eat around 6pm

I work at home so have to avoid grazing and usually have some soup at Lunchtime especially now its cooler.

We are very fortunate that we live near a Co-Op that has fab yellow stickered food after 4 so I regularly partake in that and either top up my freezer or use on the day ...Last nights Dinner for DH cost the grand total of £2.25 ( liver, onions, Mash and cauliflower made from scratch)

Breakfast was home-made Apple pie rice pudding (almond milk rice pudding with grated apple, cinnamon and raisins). I make up a batch every now and again in the slow cooker.

Lunch was salad with bacon bits, chicken, cheese and mushrooms

Dinner will be I think at the pub as we are doing the quiz tonight.
