we know of few issues too before we get the keys and will be getting plumbing and electricity checked, as well as chimney

We know for sure there is drainage work to be done (we did survey pre purchase and costed the repairs) and also we need roofer so it's not all redecoration

Hope we get keys next week, we are off work and will tackle the cleaning first! We hope to move in by Chrismtas

Hope your move is going ok Lisa

We've done the same, although ours might be mahogany.

We bought our house last year and pulled up all the carpets and repainted the whole interior of the house white prior to moving in. They previous owners had big dogs which made the whole house smell (especially the carpets) and it made a massive difference to the cleanliness of the house by replacing the carpets. Good luck!

We are in an older house with loads of wallpaper. We’ve found stripping the wallpaper off using a sugar soap spray has been our friend. Steam stripping it has damaged and blown the plaster.

is this literally sugar and soap (washing liquid or some special soap?) in spray? that's great to know, did you use any other tool at all.

I was thinking of buying something to help with wallpaper stripping tomorrow.

Going to do our final inspection of the house today. Closing date is today, I don't want to get my hopes up for today but I for sure hope for keys before end of the week.

This is drawing made by my 12 year old son of the house. Plug in here to Disney's animation classes as he did one and discovered his love for drawing since.

No, we are in Ireland/Dublin

Thanks
