Buying Microsoft Word

DH has just got a new laptop and needs word, it will only be used occasionally so we weren't wanting to pay a fortune for a big package which will be mostly not used. He's tried Libra but stuff he has sent to me (a mac user) has not transferred well for editing and returning. I have googled where to buy word and it has come up with some cheap ones but I am worried they may not be safe, does anyone know of a legit way of getting it cheaper? The student/teacher licence isn't possible as we've tried it and neither is the one which some companies can get through work. Can anyone help?

I would recommend using Google Docs as a free alternative to Word. It is compatible with word files and all you need is a Gmail email account.

Also as it is using cloud storage you still have access to the files from any device as it is stored in your Google account.

If you go for office 365 personal, it’s £59.99 a year or £5.99 a month and you can cancel at any time after the year.

See here for more details: microsoft/en-gb/p/of...%3aoverviewtab

You can also install on up to 5 devices I think, including tablets and mobiles.

I did see this and considered it as there is a free trial but once you stop paying you can't edit your documents. Me and DH are working on a short-term project together so only need word for a short while so it is not worth paying for a year for say two months (if that) use, thank you for the suggestion though
