Upgrading to Annual Passes

Hi

We joined DVC in the Summer and have our first trip coming up in September. (it was supposed to be a west coast roadtrip but we all wanted a little bit of WDW time too, so we cut off a couple of days and added a few on and now we are flying from LAX to ORL and we have 7 magic days in WDW too )

I've bought 7 day passes through ATD.
But the plan is to upgrade whilst we are out there and go back next Summer to use them again.

We did do this before we were DVC members, but we had to have like for like passes and couldn't upgrade from an Ultimate pass to a cheaper pass without the waterparks.

Has anyone upgraded from an Ultimate to a DVC goldpass before here?
Just curious if that is a possibility?
And also what kind of price did others pay to upgrade?
I know this varies depending on the person when you do it.
Just wondering for a rough idea.

Thanks so much

We had 14day ultimates which we upgraded last August to DVC gold pass for $63 each. That was in Hollywood Studios, first place we asked. We hadn’t gone to any water parks before upgrading which I think is an issue people have.

Take a look on the tickets forum, there's a load of threads there about upgrading tickets to an AP, its no different to do it to a Gold DVC AP

The best advise I can give you is work out a price before you upgrade then when you speak to the CM see if it is in the range you expect, if not try a different CM another time. They are very inconsistent with upgrades.

Thanks so much.
We aren't fussed with the water parks which is why the gold suits us.
