When we smoked it was always cheaper to buy Marlboro Light on the Virgin plane than at a US Supermarket or gas station. It was always more expensive at MCO.
I suspect that is still the case.

depends if you want a specific brand or not
if you want marlboro or some other well know worldwide brand, youll be fine buying wherever (although the plane is often cheaper than the duty free store in the airport), if you just want whatever is cheap, then a gas station where they might be doing a 2for1 type offer on cartons would be a good bet. rolling baccy isnt really a thing over there, so you'll only ever see it at the airport or on the plane hth |

In my experience, the Duty Free shop at MCO is often more expensive for items like tobacco & alcohol than on the plane (in the case of Virgin flights). Do your research / download the Retail Therapy brochure before you hit the duty free shop so you can compare prices. (I've often found the airport wifi to be very hit & miss in the MCO duty free shop - can't think why?!)
That said, the MCO shop can sometimes have offers on (particularly on alcohol) that makes it cheaper than the plane. Finally, there is always the risk that they won't have what you want onboard the plane / they have sold out of it before they get to you with the duty free. So if the price difference between MCO & on the plane is very small and represents a good saving, it may be worth biting the bullet in the terminal and buying there - at least you know you've got your stuff then. |

I usually get mine at Gatwick. I smoke menthol and they don't usually have them on the plane.

Flew out of Miami on Sunday and they had 3 for 2 on Regal and/or Superkings, you could mix and match. Regal were $39/200 and SKs $43/200, so $78 for 3 cartons of Regal. A 600 bundle of L&B was a similar price, maybe $73. Marlboro were nearer $50 for 200.
If you're flying with Virgin you can pre-order for either outbound or in bound flights, or both and the 10% sign up voucher works, 400 Mayfair for £50.40 using the code. If you see which ones you want I would pre-order as they dont have such a wide range on board and you won't get the 10% off. Virgin pre order prices HERE I bought a single pack, 20 Marlboro Gold in a garage and they were $6.78, £5.22 ish but they were cheaper if you bought 3 or more packs. Edited at 06:19 PM. |
