Well when we went last year for Dad's 70th we spent his day at Epcot but the day after we took him onto international drive and went for his indoor parachuting fly. He loved it. Got a a good deal on Groupon. May even do it for my 50th this year lol. Happy 50th when it comes to your DH

Honestly it looked like real good fun. There was a whole age range there not even sure if Dad was the oldest either! Hope you find something fun to do though.

Are you thinking special meal, evening special or hot air balloon/exciting day time experience? does your hubby have any special interests? being at portofino sounds pretty special to me but more info may get you better suggestions.

I don't know much about special dining at Universal but there is always Disney, if that is not too much of a trip out of your way? The California Grill at the contemporary is fantastic and has a wonderful view of the fireworks, we also found it had quite an adult vibe, there is also Narcosees at the GF which is lovely and again has views for the fireworks and the electric water pageant. Neither of these require park tickets, there is also the opportunity to hire one of the boats at Epcot for illuminations, it is expensive with only 2 but very romantic and you can arrange for champagne while you watch the fireworks. Either before or after the fireworks you can eat at the Yacht club steakhouse or one of the very nice places and swan/dolphin, there is an italian restaurant in one of those that people rate highly.
