Busch Gardens. Shuttle, Uber, Hire Car?

Hi,

We are staying at CSR and plan to travel to Busch Gardens for one day. I've booked some FP's for the evening at HS which we'd like to use, getting to ride Slinky in the dark would be awesome.

The Mears shuttle is the obvious answer for transport of course as it's free and we can relax. But it doesn't really fit with the schedule we'd like to use.

Preferably we'd arrive before park opening and leave late afternoon to take advantage of BG rope drop and still get our Disney FP's in the evening.

I believe the shuttle arrives at park opening or after and won't get back to Disney until around 20:30 as BG closes at 19:00 that day.

An UberX is about £50 each way. I could hire a car for the day at £39 (excluding fuel).

I wasn't planning on driving but might do that for the flexibility. I know it might seem mad not using the shuttle, but if we do we miss out on FP's for that day.

Does anyone have experiences they could share?

Thanks

I would hire the car and drive. That way, when you've had enough, be it 4pm or 7pm, you don't have to rely on waiting around for someone to pick you up and you can jump straight in the car and go, and also not have to worry about drop offs to other hotels etc.

For the price of a days car hire, it's a no brainer for me!

I think you are correct, thanks for the advice

My wife (and me to a degree) didn't want the hassle of getting the car and driving, but overall it makes sense. I'd grab the car at 6am from Disney Car Care and return to the Disney Dolphin using "key drop" at around 6pm. Then we catch the boat or talk a walk to HS.

Does anyone know if tolls exist on that route?

Hi, if you go straight from Car Care Center to Busch Gardens via I4W there are no tolls.

World Dr., exit to I4W to Tampa and then it is straight forward, exit on US-92 W/E Hillsborough Ave, finally turn right on N 40th st and 2 miles ahead Busch Gardens.
