All change: OKW -> Beach Club

I'd been meaning to phone up Disney for a while to ask about what possible changes to our July trip might cost. As it stands, we have 10 nights in an OKW 1-bed with free DDP.

I asked about how much it would cost to change to Beach Club, and it was only about £300 more for the 10 nights.

We've stayed at both places a few times and like them both a lot, but Beach Club has a special place in our heart, even with the considerably smaller space we get for the money.

Being able to walk to both Epcot and the Studios is a fantastic perk - last time from our room door to the International Gateway was less than a 5-minute walk - so we're making the switch.

Can't wait to smell that distinctive Beach Club aroma when we enter the lobby for the first time!

If you are on ddp can you just change if availability? Do you call Disney direct?
I’m thinking about changing our booking but didn’t think I could if on ddp? Thanks

Ps we’ve stayed in BC and loved it. Booked elsewhere for a change this year but something is pulling. Me back too

Yeah - I just phoned up. Nothing to pay other than the difference in the prices of the two resorts, ie no amendment fees or similar.

I think you could change almost anything you like, subject to availability, as long as the booking price remains the same or goes up.

I was also mulling upgrading the dining plan to deluxe and got quoted for that too.

We've also added on 3 nights at the Contemporary. It's not a particularly logical choice from a money perspective, as I suspect we could add those three nights on to our Beach Club booking and get free dining too, but we've not stayed at a monorail resort before so decided to add a small stay this time.

The GF doesn't appeal, so it was a coin toss between the other two and the Contemporary won this time.
