as surely a plane heading for dusseldorf heading north would arose suspicion surely

Flight was operated on behalf of BA and filed a flight plan to Edinburgh though goodness knows why. Only became apparent when they announced welcome to Edinburgh and the passengers raised the issue. As to how it happened that is a very good question.

Very odd story, how did they miss it on everyone’s boarding pass, as the crew seemed to think Edinburgh was the correct location.

A passenger says they didn’t announce a destination prior to take off. She says the gate indicator board stated Düsseldorf. Passengers were welcomed to Edinburgh by the captain, that’s when the passengers commented. It’s reported that the captain then asked passengers to put their hands up if they wanted to go to Düsseldorf- which everyone did! You couldn’t make it up.

My mum wondered whether Edinburgh was the next flight plan on an alphabetical list after Düsseldorf? Just a thought, as that would be a simple mistake to make I guess - although you’d think they’d double check - I guess they will now! 😂
