The one unlike nothing you've ever read. Day 2 - Magic Kingdom, Epcot a bit of a downpour and Manny

We are up at a much more civilised time today, I was awake at 5, but dozed until half 7 ish, the beds here are very comfy.
It's raining, so instead of walking I take the car over to Wal-Mart for a box of donuts.

We drive over to get DD at 9, Magic Kingdom here we come! DD has her work Costume with her and the plan is a morning at MK then an afternoon at Epcot, her shift is 14:15 - 2100 today.

We get there for 09:15 and as we are with a cast member our parking is free ($22 saved)9

We are in Simba 121 at the tram end of the row.

Its raining, did I mention that?

Transportation into the park is quick and there's not a lot of hold ups. We elected to use the monorail.

As you'll be able to tell from the photo's it was raining.

First FP was IASW of course,

then we did Philharmagic which was where DD worked in 2016. Then the teacups,

Caramel of Progress

and Haunted Mansion.

on exiting the latter the Florida weather proved that it had only been pretending to rain earlier... Now there was thunder and everything and an awful lot of "Tropical moisture"

We went into the Country Bear Jambouree for a bit of respite and after that Pecos Bills for bite of lunch.
Between the 3 of us we had the loaded nachos and the mixed fajitas which was plenty of food (and fixins) and cost $29.27.

At this point, the rain having stopped, we made our way back to the monorail to get the car and transfer over to Epcot.
As we got off the tram only 50 meters from the car it absolutely tipped it down again... soaked to the skin by the time we got in the car...It made for an interesting drive over to Epcot! inches of standing water and the wipers on full didn't appear to be up to the job. Nevertheless we made it ok and as it was "selfparking due to inclement weather " we got a recently vacated spot about as close to the entrance as you can get.

The rain eased a little, then a lot.. we got a few photos before parting ways with DD.

We rode living with the land but didn't fancy the 45 minute wait for Soarin

We decided on a stroll around World Showcase, taking our time and taking in the sights.

It was alternately trying to rain or looking promising, at one point we even optimistically applied sunblock, that obviously caused it to rain again...a bit.

By the time we got to the UK pavilion it was dry again. DD was working the chip shop, but was due a break, so we got to spend some time with her... before leaving we had a couple of small expensive beers in the Rose and Crown, wee eventually left Epcot at 5pm.

we decided on Mannys for dinner

they said it was a 20 minute wait for a table and gave us a buzzer...I think it was busy as happy hour was just ending and it's also 2 - 4 - 1 fajitas.

The buzzer went after 5 minutes and we were shown to our booth

DW wasn't all that hungry, and knowing that there were rolls and salad due, ordered a 6oz sirloin with fries.

I was in the mood for steak so ordered the 'cowboy' which is an 18oz bone in ribeye with baked potato.
Delicious and all finished bar a bit of the e salad.

Service was excellent and the bill was $48.h35 plus a tip.

Tomorrow will (should) be a quiet day, possibly a bit of shopping, hopefully a bit of pool time too.

Yes it was!
ponchos on and off continuously, wet or damp feet all day!
Still had a lovely time though, hope you did too.
