Day 2 - Jakes American - Royal Pacific Resort

I booked this meal a couple of months ago after seeing a video review by the DIS, The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel and is themed like a Hawaiian sports bar.

I ordered a Royal Pacific Sunset cocktail but unfortunately their ice blender wasn’t working so got a Gold Rush instead, it had bulliet rye whiskey, agarve syrup and lemon juice in it and was defiantly worth $15 - very tasty but very strong

I ordered a starter of tomato soup and Cheese Doughnut, The Doughnut was a crioissant filled with cheese and was yummy when dipped into the soup, the soup was rich and creamy and tasted like a really good lasagne sauce. Dan didn’t order a starter but helped me with this.

For our mains I ordered a BBQ brisket flat bread and Dan ordered the half chicken with mac and cheese, we also got a side of fries

My flatbread was delicious with a bbq lager sauce on top and caramelised onions it was sweet and very tasty. Dan enjoyed his chicken -it was moist and filling and had the same bbq lager sauce on it but his mac and cheese was very dissapointing and very bland - the fries were good.

Meal came to $60 - I would give it a 8/10 but due to the disappointing mac and cheese Dan gives it a 6/10

Day 3 - Room service - Royal Pacific Resort

We’re off to the outlets shortly, so decided to have room service breakfast today. I ordered Hawaiian pancakes - macadamia nut pancakes with maple syrup, sautéed pineapple and toasted coconut- this was massive and I only managed about a 1/3 of it

Dan ordered a kids breakfast - Scrabled eggs and cheese, bacon, English muffin and breakfast potatoes- this was huge too

Both were yummy, took about 30 mins to arrive and came to $33

Day 3 - Voodoo Doughnuts part 2

It’s lunchtime here and the two remaining Voodoo Doughnuts in the fridge were screaming for us to eat them so we had no choice

First up is the Diablo Rex

Chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate glaze, red icing and 3 chocolate chips

Very tasty and the doughnut part literally tastes of chocolate cake- other than that this one is a bit of a gimmick, whilst it tastes good its all about the design.

The O.D.B was next, this is a yeast raised doughnut with chocolate glaze, peanut butter icing and covered in crushed Oreos - this one had a lot more flavour, mild peanut butter taste and chocolatey

I think both of the doughnuts would have tasted better fresh so we cant mark them down for that - overall the voodoo doll signature was our favourite, then the O.D.B and then the Diabo Rex - Collective Total 9/10
