We have been to the Pioneer Village and found it quite interesting. Also liked the Osceola Welcome Centre at 4543, 4155 W Vine St, Kissimmee, which has some great displays and information on the history of the area. Opposite is access to Shingle Creek with some lovely walks.

The Welcome Center is definitely a good call if you'd like a neat window onto County history, and you could also combine it with the Paddling Center on the other side of Highway 192, in Shingle Creek Regional Park. Great kayaking territory.

Agree about Robert is Here! Also Micanopy (pronounced mick-an-o-pee) is worth a visit if you like antique shops and lots of trees with Spanish Moss - see trip report below. Mount Dora for seaplane or cat boat rides was brilliant too.
