Can definitely recommend Cassis (cassisstpete/) or The Hangar (thehangarstpete/)

While "Best" anything is very subjective. TripAdvisor just recently named Clearwater Beach the "best beach" in the country.

We always go to Pass-A-Grill , its the southernmost end of St. Pete Beach.
You can park really easily just on the road outside at the meters (a few dollars)or free , theres outsie showers and toilets just on the street and its really quiet lovely to watch the sunset , kids love it.

I can’t help with your question but we’ve booked that same game too. Going to Fort de Soto in the morning before the game and then St Johns Pass afterwards( I think) before heading back to Orlando. We stayed in a hotel last time we went to Tropicana Field in 2017 so we could have a few beers at the game and it was a great night.

Go to St Pete Beach, you could get your lunch at Bongos, the beach bar of the Grand Plaza Hotel. It’s a great little spot.

Went in 2017 to the baseball stayed 2 nights when we flew in to tampa, watched the baseball on the Sunday, stayed in Treasure island, nice beach not too crowded and near St Johns pass for bars restaurants and a some shops, drove to the baseball, there is plenty of parking, we parked right next to the stadium think it was $25, but we saw parking for $10 a bit further away.
As someone else said it's not far from the beach but the traffic was busy when we went, it's worth getting there a little early plenty to see and nice to soak up the atmosphere, also got some very cheap tickets on travelzoo $90 tickets for $25, they were on the press level great view near the home plate.
Will be going again this year.
