The one thing you can be reassured about WDWs “vacation club” properties is that they are immaculately kept, but as they are meant to be a family home-away-from-home environment the styling isn’t modern, innovative or adventurous. But they’re very clean and child friendly! I wouldn’t choose it as an adult couple but with teens that want some freedom to explore beyond the hotel, SSR provides that, especially with its Bridge to Disney Springs.

If you’re going over to Disney during peak periods it *can* be worth redeeming Marriott points at the S&D. 5 nights is 200,000 points which I value at $2,000. However as the S&D can frequently be found at $200-$300/nt I decided to pay there and earn the points to use on better value redemptions elsewhere. All the more so if you can BRG and get that further 25% off!

So, the resorts with Freestyle machines are Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter (as of August 2018). Have a look and see which one you like the look of most. As you're considering going this year might be worth looking at the US Disney website and any offers they have at the moment. Or renting DVC points from a website like Dave's

I would also have a look at the Disney Springs hotels disneyspringshotels/ which have those added benefits.

We stayed at Beach Club and I loved the location. Although the resort isn't necessarily big, you can wander over to boardwalk or to Hollywood Studios or Epcot.
