We've decided to rent a car upon arrival, but will use the TUI transfer to return to the airport.
For £40 I figured it was worth it to have the car, as we won't be waiting and we can do a grocery shop on the way to Cabana Bay. They have the Avis desk in the lobby, so easy to drop the car as we check in.

They are only renting for a couple of hours for the airport trip.
1 day rental will start around £30

We used the tui coach in 2017 no problems. As soon as we were out the airport there were tui reps waiting to greet us and directed us to our bus.

The only hiccup was the bus braked suddenly when cars with a police convoy (Bruno mars and his entourage apparently) cut in front of us and the poor tui rep was sent flying down the bus! Thank god she was ok but I bet she had a few bruises!

Do they let you know about what time you need to be picked up for the return journey while on the bus going?

Yes, we got a welcome pack on the bus with useful phone numbers on and details of the return journey. All very easy and well organised.
