The Mirror is saying it’s a false alarm and, according to a spokesman for the RER station at Marne la Vallee, a faulty escalator was causing loud noises, which is what caused the panic.

My daughter's friend and her mum are there at the moment. They were in lock down in Buffalo Bills after being made to go through Starbucks kitchen. She said it was very scary with about 50 people being made to go through into Buffalo Bills! She said there are armed police and soldiers everywhere and no one knew what was happening! She's now safely back at their hotel thank goodness! Scary stuff!

Relived to read it was a faulty escalator. What a horrible experience for all there now.

Yet if you arrive by car at the DLH you just drive in with no security, park up and take bags to room, then nothing to get through the park entrance or village

Must have been very scary but really pleased to hear how well DLP handled it and everyones safety.

I got the Eurostar and stayed at Sequoia Lodge and the x ray machine was there and they were also at the entrance to the Disney Village.

That's crazy about the DLH. Perhaps they think people who stay there are rich and don't do bad things!

When we were there for Christmas in 2016 we were security checked at the entrance to DLH, had to open the boot for them to check and then we had to hand over our luggage and they sent it to the room so I assume they xrayed it then. There was also pat down and xray to get into the village and again to get into the parks!

Glad it was a false alarm but scary though

It’s been several years since I’ve been but back then you had to put any bags you had through an x-ray machine whenever you entered the Disney village. We had to do it every day when staying onsite. Also any cars or buses arriving at the onsite hotels had to scan their luggage.

Have things changed in the last 5 years?

Whilst I have no problem at all with the security scanners around the resort at DLP, I do think (based on experience) the one at the Sequoia Lodge could be much better situated. The SL is composed of rooms in separate lodges outside the main building, as well as rooms in the main building. If you're staying at the lodges you have to go through the scanner room with any bags (situated at the entrance to the main building) every time you want to go to reception/concierge.

In my opinion, it would make more sense for the scanners to be situated at the road and bridge entrances/exits to the resort instead.
